The BSc Economics and Management degree enables students to combine an in-depth study of economics with management options. It will appeal to those students who wish to obtain a general education in those disciplines which underline the theory and practice of management, and yet at the same time specialise in economics.

Units offered for BSc (Hons) Economics and Management

A student has to study Twelve units in three years, of which, Ten are compulsory units

Foundation units:
  • Introduction to Economics
  • Business and Management in a Global Context
  • Mathematics1(Half unit)
  • Statistics1(Half unit)
  • Priciples of Sociology
  • Principles of Accounting

Five Further units From:

  • Microeconomics
  • Organisation Theory: an interdisciplinary approach
  • Macroeconomics
  • Public Economics
  • Economics of Development
  • Labour Economics
  • Monetary Economics
  • Elements of Econometrics
  • Information Systems and Organisations
  • Principles of Marketing
  • Human Resource Management
  • Elements of Social and Applied Psychology
  • Corporate Finance

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the BSc degrees, an applicant must:

  • normally be at least 17 years old and
  • have GCSE/GCE 'O' level in Mathematics and English Language with at least grade C or equivalent and
  • have two subjects at GCE 'A' Level, plus at least three further subjects at GCSE/GCE 'O' level (at not less than grade C) or
  • three subjects at GCE 'A' level (with one 'A' level at not less than grade D) or
  • three subjects at GCE 'A' level, plus one further subject at GCSE/GCE 'O' level (at not less than grade C) or
  • two subjects at GCE 'A' level, plus two further subjects at GCE 'AS' level or
  • BA/BSc/BCom from any recognised university of Pakistan or
  • High School Diploma plus two APs (excluding Studio Art)

If you do not meet the Entrance Requirements for the degree programme, you have the option of registering for the following qualifications which provide an entry route to all degrees in the field of Economics, Management, Finance and the Social Sciences:
