The Jurists' Forum

 

The  Jurists’ Forum serves as an umbrella organization for different activities for law students for example  debates , moots, seminars, study trips, visit to courts and legal discussions ,as well as a platform for launching our budding lawyers into sterling careers through  focused career counselling, advice from active professionals and admission advice for foreign universities. Currently the Jurist Forum is working on its own Human Rights Journal in collaboration with the American Bar Association.

UNIVERSITY COLLEGE ASSOCIATION OF MOOTERS (UCAM):

The University College Association of Mooters is a society created for law students to polish their advocacy skills and to help them build their Skills Portfolio which is a compulsory component of University of London’s LLB Degree.

University College Lahore has remained the finalist at Olympiad Moot and also at the Henry Dunant Moot Court Competition organized by ICRC(International Committee of the Red Cross).Furthermore, University College Lahore students also participated in several moot competitions held by Pakistan  College of Law, Lahore University of Management and Sciences National, United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan, Lahore Grammar School and Szabist.

UCAM’S latest venture was a Human Rights Moot Court(UCLHRC) which was organised in collaboration with the America Bar Association in 2013  in order to spread awareness about Human Rights. It lasted for three days and teams from different universities participated.

UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LAHORE INTRA-MODEL UNITED NATIONS:

The Intra-MUN occurs twice a year, once in every semester. Around 40 students participate and compete against each other. Teams selection for national and international MUNs is done from the same platform , Outstanding Diplomacy Awards are warded to two students every time.

SEMINARS BY LOCAL/INTERNATIONAL LAW EXPERTS:

Various  seminars by national and international experts are arranged by University College Lahore  all year round for its students.

Recently the students attended a talk on the legality of Drone Attacks in Pakistan by a renowned International expert , Professor Robert Barnidge  Jr.
Previously, a team of Australian Parliamentarians also came to University College Lahore  to enlighten the Law students about their experience and to make a comparative analysis with Pakistan.

JOBS/INTERNSHIPS:

The Job  Placement  office at University College Lahore School of Law provides its students and graduates with various career opportunities such as internships and jobs at Multinational Companies and Law Firms.
